Canadian Crude Quality Technical Association - News - Vapor Pressure Usage in VOC Emissions Regulations
Vapor Pressure Usage in VOC Emissions Regulations

It came to the attention of the CCQTA in early 2024 that Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) had released proposed regulations for VOC emissions from crude tanks. Through discussions at several meetings (March, June and August) the CCQTA performed a technical review of the regulations and provided a response to ECCC highlighting the lack of scientific rigor in the regulation.

Members of the CCQTA vapor pressure project were provided a copy of the letter to ECCC and it is available to all members under the vapor pressure project under the active projects.

Similar discussions are also being held within the COQA in the US with EPA regulations also revising the vapor pressure test conditions.

Discussions will continue at both the October COQA and CCQTA meetings.
